Saved from Going off the Rails...Thanks MFP

I haven't been on MFP for very long but I have been yo-yo dieting for all of my adult life. I would lose weight then have a bad day or so, not see what I wanted and then give up.
This last weekend we have friends over and my husband decided to make an all stuffed menu. So after a bunch of alcohol, stuffed mushrooms, stuffed jalapeño peppers wrapped in bacon, stuffed pork, twice baked potatoes (and twinkles for dessert) I wondered onto the scale yesterday morning. I had gone up three pounds. I shrugged, knew that I had not put on three pounds of fat and logged the weight in my spreadsheet with a note that the night before was an indulgent dinner. I walked into the kitchen and started to get my tea, peanut butter toast and berries that I always have ready. This morning I am down to one pound above where I was before this weekend. Thanks to all the reading I have done here I know that I am going in the right direction.
Thank you to everyone, I read these forums everyday but I rarely post. In a previous life this weekend would have easily led to me giving up or freaking out. Three pounds OVERNIGHT!!! Of course in a previous life I would also be starving, popping pills and eating enough cabbage soup to make me never want to look at the stuff again. So thank you everyone for your advice even if it was never offered directly to me it has changed my life.
