Anyone racewalk or Nordic walk?

I love walking and it is my primary form of exercise. I have lost a number of pounds but I find it harder to burn calories these days and I want to ramp up my walking.

Weekends, I hike when I can, but for weekday mornings I want to stick to walking the sidewalks or the high school track.

Can anyone recommend videos, books etc for starting race walking or walking with trekking poles? I am concerned that trekking poles may irritate my carpal tunnel and cubital tunnel syndrome.
