HRM Wow moment

I play pick-up basketball with a bunch of old farts (ages 35-70) on Tuesday and Thursday nights. It was always hard to figure out the best way to log it. We arrive at 8:30, warm up, and play until 10 or 10:30. Sometimes you have to sit out a game.
MFP has the database item "Basketball-Game." I had been putting that in for 60 minutes, being conservative due to the games I sit out, and the fact that I am not hustling like a competitive game all the time. Database put that at about 900 cals burned.
Got my new HRM last week, and wore it to Thursday's game. Report came in at 1630! It even came undone near the end, and I played 3 or 4 points without it.
My goal is set to lose 2 a week, and I have averaged 2.8 since January. Now I know why! Considering that the general wisdom for MFP exercise calculation is to only eat back half of what it shows you burn. If I was burning 1600, but only eating back 400 or so, that's 2400 extra calories burned per week.
I've bumped my goal back to 1.5 a week, and plan to spread out some of these extra exercise calories over the course of the week.
