I'm just going to go ahead and make a blanket statement that any "weight loss aid" in the form of a pill is a waste of money.

I would say it might as well be a scam. It's got a lot of stuff going against it.

I did the 24 day challenge. I will give you my honest opinion. The cleanse phase was the first ten days and it was a good experience. The 2nd part is the max phase and it didn't go so well. The limit on foods to eat I struggled with. Overall I lost 14 pounds and tons of inches. After the cleanse I felt great the only thing was you had to pee every five minutes for the amount of water intake but that's all and completely normal to someone who drinks tons of water. The max phase just consisted of way too many pills to take for my liking.

Advocare is a great way to kick off a healthy lifestyle but to stick to the meal plans provided can be a difficult task if you aren't strict enough. Can you probably get similar results from just the meal plan and exercise? Probably. But I can see why people like it too. I see both arguments. Would I do it again? Maybe just the cleanse but not the full 24 days. I have a really sensitive stomach and it really helped aid with that.

And it wasn't something where once it was over I gained everything back. I never gained the weight back.

Can you tell me more about this cleanse? Like what exactly does it cleanse, etc?

I did it, like it was mentioned above, the cleanse phase was definitely a good experience, but the max phase made my stomach really upset the entire time and I had to stop it. There are WAY too many pills to take and that bothered me a lot, too-supplements or not.
Personally do not think it is worth paying 200 dollars for!

The cleanse was a ten day phase that consisted of a morning fiber shake (worst part of the whole ordeal completely disgusting) an omegaplex supplement which is Omega-3 fatty acids that are essential components of heart, nerve, muscle, skin, bone and immune health (this product is great i still use them) and there are some other supplements as well that you take on the days you don't have to drink the shake. ( You can also add other supplements that are extra based on your goals)

The cleanse basically rids your body of waste and toxins to prepare it for maximum nutrients absorption. You don't fast you are just limited to a strict healthy diet (Very limited on carbs). The way this cleanse works is based off of diet exercise and water intake. In my experience and most people I know who have done it have reported that they never had bathroom runs unless it was to pee. Not like a cleanse where you are on the toilet 24-7.

Like I said I lost 14 pounds and have never felt better after the cleanse portion. I would do this again in a heartbeat. Cravings are bad if you are going off of a bad diet for the first couple of days but by day 4-5 it's nothing! If you already have a strict healthy diet then It really is nothing but adding a shake in the morning time and a few pills here and there.

I am not affiliated with them either. Just my opinions and experiences. Everyone is different and some people absolutely hate advocare, I gave it a shot and I saw both sides of the spectrum.

What toxins and waste matter do you get rid of with Advocare that your liver, kidney, bowels can eliminate (without expensive concoctions)?

Tried some of the products, I didn't see any difference. People that are overweight often try to sell it to me, and I have to wonder why they still use/sell it if it obviously hasn't made a difference in their own weight loss.

As far as the Advocare 24-day challenge, well, some people have to torture themselves to try to eat healthy.

Well for one there's no reason to attack someone for trying to better themselves. I tried this product because it came to me free of charge when I was starting my journey by a friend who sells it. I was looking for ways to help my stomach issues that I have. I was sold (completely could have been false statements I do not disagree with the fact that your organs already do this on their own) based on that it removed impurities from my body, improved my digestion & my immune system. Whether this is true or not I do not know and most already stand firm at their own opinion even if I did know.

Like I said, I don't sell this product so I don't push this product. I offered my experience to someone who asked about it. Like I said before I had problems with this product just like I had success with this product and I claimed that the success I did have could have been related to the diet guidelines and water intake, that simply a strict diet and exercise program could give similar results.

I do not have to torture myself to eat healthy actually. But thanks.

No one is being attacked. You said it cleanses toxins. I'm curious as well as the other poster is, as to what toxins it cleanses? That's not an attack.

OP, save your money and just eat at a deficit and get in exercise when you are able.

You have only 20lbs to lose. It's just going to take some time like you were told in another thread of you made.

I Started the Advocare 24 Day Challenge 7 days ago. I have lost 7 lbs and I feel great. I am actually eating more than I ever have just healthier. I felt like it would be a great way to jump start a new healthy lifestyle. Just like anything it takes commitment. Anyone looking for weight loss in a magic pill or program will loses! One MUST DO THE WORK. PERIOD! That being said it was not a waste of money or a scam for me. It was a program that I can stick to and am thankful that i found it.

Advocare = waste of money, waste of time.

Eat at a reasonable calorie deficit. Exercise. Benefit. The end. (and that is free!)

I like the Spark drink. I've tried the other stuff but didn't notice a difference in how I felt anymore than I did just taking a multi vitamin. I'd save my money.

Like other things, it's just a diet aid that works off the premise of a calorie deficit. If you want to folk out $200+ then that is on you, but I much rather put that to some good foods and equipment. From what I have seen too, advocare, like many other programs, tend to over cut calories. I would much rather go for the free MFP approach and see which lifestyle is suitable to you (IIFYM, LC/HF, Raw, etc..) and find a good exercise program that incorporates resistance training and cardio.

Looks like you are more qualified than me to answer that question. I can tell you that my weight has not fluctuated up and down but has just been steadily decreasing. I am eating 5 meals a day and drinking a gallon of water. I am working daily as well and the results are clear. Is it just the Advocare supplements? No, of course not and I would be a fool to believe that. I do think however there is value in any program that one can purchase that has things spelled out for you. I do not have the time for daily gym visits or a personal trainer, this is working for me. Is it all fat? I'm not 100% sure. I can tell you that my body fat % has dropped from 25.5% to 24.7% so is that enough information? Regardless I feel great and look better. The great thing about America is that we can all have our opinions and mine is that for me, Advocare is working. Cheers!

For me, the 24 day challenge, it was a good way to jump start a healthier me last year. But I wouldnt do it again after the first time (some people do it like every 3 months... WASTE). The only think I do use from advocare is the drink SPARK. I enjoy it.

I lose all this weight without using pills and I am gonna try to keep it that way. All the other years of my life I was fat I used pills, shakes and everything inbetween...and I was still fat.

Now I changed my lifestyle and that made all the difference. 5.5 lbs from goal.

You are right on! I am on day 4 and have already lost 3 pounds...am under no illusion that if I don't keep up the healthy lean protein/veg/low-carb eating that it will all come back! Good luck in the future!
