TDEE question, quick clarification

yes, another TDEE post. I am on the Scooby site that is referenced time and again on MFP.
this line confused me:
Daily calories to maintain weight (TDEE)--but then it states how many pounds you will lose per month/year eating this amount. if this is your maintenance calorie intake, why does it show you losing at all?

Directly under that line is another line that says daily calories based on goal in step 6. It will be a percentage off (20% of the default) your TDEE, which is the amount of calories you need to maintain based on the information you entered. This is your "TDEE -20%" that everyone talks about, and is a good starting point.0

This is the one that I used because it's in between the scooby and IIFYM targets set for me.0
