if you're taking a selfie to put up on grindr - gay AND ok
if you're taking a selfie to put up on tindr - not gay, STILL ok
if you're taking a selfie for any other reason - could be gay, could not be gay depending on sexual preference of the person taking the selfie and would STILL be ok.
judging sexuality on behaviors that have nothing to do with sexuality - NOT OK
acting as though any one sexuality is not ok - also NOT OK.

Do you mean is it weird for men to take selfies? I think it's fine to take body shots of yourself because you're really into working out and want to post them here or on fitness sites. But if you post them to things like Facebook you run the risk of running people away that think it's self centered. One of my oldest friends on FB drives me crazy with his crossfit selfies. Nobody cares! Go post those to a fitness website!0
