Floating/Rocking Sensation triggered by workout

Hi All,

I experienced this "floating sensation/boat rocking sensation" for the first time in May 2012. I dont feel dizzy or light headed or spinning sensation of any sort. The only feeling I have is this very uneasy "floating/rocking" sensation that I experience the most when I lie down. I had visited multiple specialists - ENT/Neurotologist and Neurologist and was told that it was an inner ear problem. I had some medications for a month and I stopped excercising and I was completely back to normal. In August 2013, I started T25 (Beachbody workout) and after 2 weeks, I developed the floating sensation again. I met up with another senior ENT specialist and he told me that I had MAV (Migraine Associated Vertigo). I was put on 2 months of medication (flunarizine) and I was again back to feeling normal. This time too, I stopped my excercise

I have piled up a lot of weight now and I am back to excercising again since last week. I am doing Turbo Fire currently. I am quite shocked that my floating sensation has come back to haunt me again. It is nothing debilitating or preventing me from working out, but ideally, I would like to feel normal after a workout.

Are there anybody else like me out here who have experienced workouts being a trigger for MAVs? Have you still continued to excercise and If so, tried to beat this dizzy feeling. Please provide your suggestions. I dont want to give up on excercising and I have lots to loose. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
D.

Well, I never had that but I have gotten some bad bouts of vertigo and I know it was from exercise and I believe it was plank jacks and incorporating light weights (overhead type exercises) with cardio. I believe I pinched a nerve in my upper back and/or neck area that triggered the vertigo. It lasted a few days each time and eventually went away on its own. I also stopped exercising during the vertigo ... really, no choice there. I made note of what I had done in the previous day(s) to the onset and it always came back to exercise as the common denominator.

Maybe go over exactly why type of exercise you did before it occurred? Keep a log and record everything you do. Did it happen after cardio? Did it happen after lifting weights? Did it happen after doing planks? Or does it happen regardless of what exercise you do? What is Turbo Fire .... what type of workout is that? Incorporating yoga may help as there are many positions to open up/stretch things.
