I am on a lower carb, high protein, moderate fats diet. It's recommended to have 1g of protein per pound of body weight per day.... well how on earth can I do this? I'm choosing foods that have high protein but I am no where near my goal which I have set around 220g which is still below 1g per pound a day in regards to my weight. Any suggestions? Should I try protein drinks and if so which mixes are the best? Help a girl out! I am lost!

1 gram per pound of LEAN body weight. That is not total body weight.

JMO, I don't see how in the world you should eat that much protein. How many calories would that be?

I would have a hard time reaching 220g also. Go with 1 gram per pound of lean body mass, or even 1 gram per pound of goal weight.

You can add protein powder to help reach your goal. I prefer getting it from food (protein shakes don't give me any sense of satiety; a chicken breast does) but I definitely supplement at times - my protein minimum is 130g, which is my lean body mass. My favorite powder is optimum nutrition gold standard - either double rich chocolate or banana cream.

    880 calories from protein (220x4).

Yeah, think you should be shooting for 1 gram per pound of lean body mass as the others have said.

    My protein recommendations:

    Tuna
    Chicken
    Eggs
    Cottage Cheese
    Greek Yogurt
    Pork Chops
A good protein powder like Muscle Milk

    Good luck :)

I thought it was ~1g per pound of lean body mass? But for protein, greek yogurt, cheese, edamame, lean meat, and protein powders usually get me to or close to my goal.

Aha! See I misunderstood. Ok 1 gram per pound of lean body mass makes much more sense. Geeze. I was so freaked out!
    Thanks guys!
