:blushing: I hope I'm not alone on this board, as any of us who've made it to the senior stage need as much motivation as
everyone else!
First time on this website board, and I'm a desperate overweight member looking to chat about how to lose my extra 35 pounds in as short a time as is humanly possible, since I want to enjoy the rest of my life in a comfortable and healthy way!
I love reading, hope to be able to resume my old walking program after a 3 year hiatus following hip replacement. Had always loved exercise, and now want to get back to as much as possible at 83.
Hope I find this Board again, but I'm getting the hang of it finally! So hello, everyone, let's be friends!

You didn't post your name so I'm not sure how to address you, but Hello!

I'm a 69-year old living in the Missouri Ozarks. I've been up and down the scale since I turned 50 and am so tired of always needed to loose weight.

Six years ago my husband, who is now 73, had a heart attack and was ordered to loose weight. We worked on it together and he went from 322 to about 240 in about six months. I lost 50 pounds (from 220 to 170) in that same time span.

Like I said, it's been six years and we've found some of the pounds we'd lost. Last week we learned that hubby need a triple bypass. His weight was back up to 370, and I have to admit mine was up 26 pounds, too.

So - we begin again. I was using another calorie counter (everydayhealth.com) but was having problems with their forums so came over here. Support is so important and it really helps to talk to someone.

In the past eight days, I've lost 7 pounds total even though myfitnesspal only knows about 3 of them. Hubby has lost some weight, too.

I love to read, garden and mess with the computer. We have two Afghan hounds who are a huge part of our lives. We used to show one of them but he is a Champion already so we stopped. The other is show quality but the time, travel and expense have kept him out of the ring.

I enjoy walking them, and am hoping that I will feel more like my old self when I drop 34 or 40 pounds. I'd like to be around 145/150 - I'm tall (5' 7") so that's a good weight for me.
