I am 35 and the mother of 5 kids. I never had a real weight issue till I got pregnant with my first child 15 years ago. I have been battling since. May of 2013 I made the decision to start working my butt off. I have ran some 5k's and looking forward to doing a 10miler. I have lost 40 pounds since then. I was down 31 in October but ended up needing surgery then complications from surgery which led to a second surgery and an additional hospital stay. So I gained back 16 of what I had lost. I started back at the gym Jan 2nd 2014. The doc has told me to keep my calories between 1200-1350 and I am working out 5-6 days a week. Usually 6. I am now doing 5 miles on the elliptical and 40 min of weights. Some days I walk an extra 2-3 miles after my workout or later that night. I was loosing a steady 2-3 pounds a week. And is now only a pound every 3 weeks maybe. I'm stressed out and feel like I'm working too hard for no results. I measure every week. And I'm not loosing there either. I asked doc if I should change anything and she said no. Plateaus are normal and will eventually end. But here I am still sitting here. I think I'm doing fantastic so i don't know what the issue is. I do eat what i want on Saturdays cuz it helps me from binge eating. I don't go over board.
