I had been pretty pleased with staying on track with my calorie goal, and getting closer and closer getting my protein goal up there. Hadn't lost a lot, as much as I was expecting in this time period, disappointed in not much change in inches.
Tonight I was trying to look for my trend, oh I found it alright, I don't pay as much attention to the other nutrients, just a glance not using those figures when planning my meals. Well that sure was stupid. My actuals on those too were way above my goal, some cases almost double. I am so concerned now of what else I am going to have to learn about eating right. From what I understand carbs and sugar turn right to fat. I hope I haven't wasted three weeks.
I've been reading labels, trying to buy organic, clean, whole foods - I am forever when I go into the supermarket now days.
How in the world do I balance these other nutrients? I'm sure fat doesn't look good either, but I don't even understand the different kinds of fat - help?
Can I please hear some replies on how you maintain all the important nutrients keeping them on track and balanced all at the same time? Also, what do I need to be ruling out as forbidden foods.
Thanks for listening to me rant on! Any advice help would be so appreciated!

Nothing turns straight to fat. Only excess calories of any type.

You don't need to eat clean/organic etc to lose weight. Nothing needs to be forbidden.

Just pick a sensible calorie goal eat a decent amount of protein and fat and you will lose weight.

I agree with the above. (edit: Iron_Feline, since someone posted between us )

Also, realize that 8 lbs in 4 weeks (going from your ticker) is excellent loss. You don't really want to be losing faster than that. So, no, you haven't been wasting the last month.

Carbs are a great source of easily accessible energy, fat is essential for maintaining hormonal balance as well as transporting the fat-soluble vitamins (A,D,E), and protein is good for repairing tissues ... all are needed for a healthy diet so don't feel the need to eliminate any of them. Getting them all to balance is a learning process, but you seem to be doing great so far. Keep at it, and you'll be fine. :flowerforyou:
