Calves Hurt

I've had sore calves after an intense workout this week and could barely walk for two days, so I took those two days as rest days. Then, I worked out again last night and today I can barely walk again! But I don't want to take another rest day today so I am going to work out anyway, but just take it easy on my legs. But I've never had this problem before, so I'm not sure why it's just coming up this week and I haven't put any unusual strain on them besides up the amount of time I am working out from about 40 minutes to a little over an hour.

Any know why this is happening or any tips for loosening them up? They just feel so tight it sucks!
