Heartrate Increase

I've been dieting for about 3 weeks and riding a bike for exercise. Before the diet, I was still riding the bike about 400 miles a month, so I did not just start 20 days ago. I have a record of my rides and in the last 3 days, my average HR has gone up about 10 or 12% with no increase in speed. What's causing this? And I know I should back off, but how much?

there are a few factors that can cause it to rise. extra weight, not being hydrated enough, resistants in the chain/wheels and so on.
Personally I would go for not being hydrated enough as the blood would thicken some and harder to push.0 -
Amarillo - I have 2+ years of of statistics on bike rides that include HR and speed. Not until 3 days ago had my average HR for a daily ride vary more than a few BPM. 3 days ago it went from about 140 to 156. It had never been that high except for interval workouts or very hard rides. So, I am eliminating improper hydration.0
