Hi All

Thought it would be good manners if i introduced myself first, before I go posting on the other posts.

My name is Carol, I am 38yrs old, and live in South Wales, UK. I am married with 3 Children ages 14, 11, & 8. I found MFP through my hubby as he started using it a month or so before me on his iPhone, so when i upgraded my mobile contract i got an iPhone 4 so i could use the MFP app too.

So, I decided to loose some weight as since having the kids, the stones have crept on, and after being diagnosed with Fibromyalgia back in july this year, i thought it was about time i did something about my weight and loose some as extra weight is no good for my joints either.

I have never done any sort of dieting before, so i am so glad i found this! I cant believe how much you have to eat! I have gone from just maybe having lunch and dinner, to eating small amounts but often.

When i started back in July, I was 202lbs 5ft 11inches, and both hubby and I weigh in every two weeks, both using the tape measure to measure our waists, chest, neck, thighs & Hips and the weighing scales. When we weighed in the other day, i had lost a total of 16lbs since the beginning of July. Is that good?

I have been reading a few of your success stories, and i am amazed! You are all such an inspiration!

Look forward to getting to know my fellow weight loss buddies.

It sure is! Keep on, and soon you don't need to "ask" whether it's good but you can "state" that it is good :-)

    Hello and welcome!

You'll find lots of support here and yes, 16lbs since July is good. Keep up the good work!

My sister was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia a few years back so I have some idea of what that means for you. Are you able to exercise much? My sister has to be very careful not to overdo it with the exercise or it brings on a bout of pain for her.

Good luck on your journey to better health and fitness :-)
  • Thanks everyone.

I am so excited about losing some weight. I don't have ridiculous goals, I am doing a stone at a time, until I 'feel' more comfortable, and boost my self esteem and feel better about myself.

I do have bad days with the fibro, and yes, if I do too much, it does come on with a vengeance a day or so later, but i am just fed up with not doing anything just because I'm hurting. So every few days I just say blow to it, and have a good go around the house cleaning and tidying and then suffer after.

Hubby and I are going to start a gentle excersise routine soon, once we have finished tidying the attic out, and putting a floor down, so hopefully that should help me a little.
