I have been walking 6-6.5 miles at a 4.5 pace which takes about 70 min... or doing the step mill for 45 min. Which one is better for maximum calorie burning? I sweat a lot more on the stepper but walk at a very fast pace. Some times i am up to 4.7 for my walking pace. and I do walk outside to get the hills etc.

Couldn't tell ya. Your best bet would be to use a HRM to find out. Next up would be using the estimate generated by the machines or MFP. If I had to guess, I'd think I would burn more doing that walking than stepping with the info you gave... but I have a better idea of my own intensity levels and whatnot.
ETA that 4.5-4.7 mph would be more of a slow run rather than walk for me.0 -
Thanks!! yes I am a very fast walker. Only my daughter will walk with me. LOL Thanks for your reply.0

Hmmm. It takes me 67-68 minutes to walk 5 miles at a 4.5 mph pace. On a treadmill, on the street ... it's pretty consistent that you'll cover about 5 miles (or just over) in that period of time at that rate. Where are you getting 6-6.5 miles from?0
