Quitting smoking, reducing alcohol intake, losing weight, and getting in (better) physical shape has allowed me to play soccer again when I thought those days were long past. Although I'll never be able to hand with the 20 year olds I still have my place on the field and every game is an absolute blast and I'm so grateful for each and every one!

It's not all about the scale, it's not all about how you look. Think about everything you can DO once you get your health in order and it is SOO worth it!

Keep it up everyone, there's a better life ahead!

Well done - I know how hard it is to quit smoking and stay in touch with your weight!

You are absolutely right - this whole exercise is about how you feel and what you can do. What the scales actually read is immaterial - the benefits must come from increased health and well being - it's this that keeps me motivated. I love being able to walk without the arthritis being so painful and without being out of breath - and as for having no heartburn/acid reflux - bliss!!!!

Wishing you good health and happiness and many more games of soccer
