Granted, I'm only trying to lose 10lbs that Lexapro put on, but I've been putting in hard work for the past 4 weeks and the scale hasn't budged. It actually went UP a pound today! I've been running/doing elliptical 3-4 times a week, squats, crunches daily, light weights and high reps about 3x a week, and im taking up Zumba soon to change up the kind of cardio I'm doing.
I'm still ON lexapro, so that might not be helping, treatment for IBS. Dr doesnt want to try taking me off yet, told me to hold off 6 more months, but in 6 months I gained the 10 and I really can't deal with gaining 10 more in the next 6, especially because I'm only 5'2. That change would be very noticeable.
I mean, im going to take a guess that it's possible the mix of still being on meds/any muscle building is keeping the scale from going down. I have seen a half inch difference in my waist and hips though and that's keeping me motivated...but im such a slave to the scale, I admit it.
I'm going to keep moving forward, but im definitely frustrated.
I do watch closely what i eat of course too, i get the whole "you cant exercise off bad diet" thing, and i certainly do my best to eat healthy every day, about 1200-1400 cals a day, and keep it as low sodium and fat as possible, trying to keep my carbs a bit under the max for they day and be more aware of hitting protein for the day (i dont get enough, generally).
Any other suggestions? Or do I just need to keep trucking along and give it more time?

I know the feeling. I've been at it for about three weeks and was really motivated when I dropped 6lbs really fast, but realized it was all water. Now I'm hovering around 157 and it's frustrating because I'm watching what I eat, drinking lots of water and exefcising on some level daily (I'm in grad school and I babysit so I only have time for the gym a handful of times a week, but when I'm there I make it count).
But I too, however, have seen a big difference in my measurements, even though the scale tells me nothing is happening. That too is keeping me going, because eventually I know the weight will go down, and right now I'm building useful muscle.
As much as I love the scale too, from one frustrated person to another--try not to mind it too much! Pay attention to your strength and body composition because that part will always be important. And let's both give it just a bit more time!it will be worth it. If you're doing everything right, you can't go wrong. Just hang in there!
