Alot depends on the kind of music you like. I personally couldn't listen to a lot of hard rock. I like country, but could never work out to it. I listen to a lot of upbeat Top 40 stuff. Some songs on my playlist:

    Timber - Ke$ha/Pitbull
    International Love - Chris Brown/Pitbull
    Yeah - Usher
    Drive By - Train

I actually have quite a bit of Pitbull. For some reason, his songs are almost always at the right tempo for me. :)

I like upbeat indie (so, still lyrics, not just Skrillix-y stuff)

    Yes Yes by The Colorist
Hurry Hurry by Air Traffic Controller
Sleep Alone (Chainsmokers Remix) by Two Door Cinema Club
Safe and Sound by Capital Cities
    Tightrope by Walk the Moon

I also love love love all Marina & the Diamonds for working out. This all might not be the style you're going for, though.

If you are looking for a good pace to keep during a walk, get the CD "Trinity" by Sean Paul.
I DARE you to try and walk slow during these songs!!! When I need to pick up my pace I switch to this CD on my ipod.
(Oh, but skip the first track - only a few seconds long but it is a screaming intro to him.)

My "workout" music is the sound of my horses eating, breathing, calling to me, and the sound of the ducks hissing and chirping ( Muscovies) and quacking (Pekins), and the sounds made by the haybine, rake, baler, tractor, etc. I'ts music to my ears.

BPM is important (for me) when doing cardio......

You put in your running / walking pace & get a list of songs. You can narrow the list by genre too

I listen to a lot of latin music. Bachata, Merengue, Salsa....great for a fast work-out. The slowest Bachata song may have you walking in 3.3 pace if you walk to the beat. Up-beat Merengue and Salsa - 3.5 pace - 4.0 pace. I use Romeo Santos Pandora Radio when I work out to get a variety.

These are some of my stand bys - I add new music all the time, but these seem to be the ones that always get me going.

Lady Marmelade by Christina Agulerra (I spelled nothing right here, I know)
    Freedom by George Michael
Sweet Child of Mine by Sheryl Crow
    California Girls by Katie Perry
    It's Time by Imagine Dragons

I listen to a variety of music while I workout, sometimes rock or sometimes really upbeat - depending on my mood, those both get me pretty pumped.

Sometimes I use FitRadio and do the Top 40 or Spotify and make a playlist of DJ mixes...

    Some songs I have are

Clarity - Brillz Remix by Zedd
Spectrum - Radio Mix by Zedd
I love it - Icona Pop
I need your love - Calvin Harris
    Champs - Moguai
We Run the Night - Havana Brown
    Party Rock Anthem - LMFAO
    Raise your Glass - Pink
    Starry Eyed - Ellie Goulding
E.T. - Katy Perry (and the mixes she has on her album)
    Animals -Martin Garrix
    Stay the Night - Zedd
    Find you - Zedd
Young and Beautiful - Lana Del Ray

I like the whole Dear Agony album by Breaking Benjamin too - sometimes I listen to that when I'm having a bad day and it gets me motivated.
  • Pop Punk and Hardcore usually do the trick for me...

    depending on my mood.

Balkan brass bands. Those guys are FAST.

Also, in certain moods, metal from the 90's. Especially if it's hot outside.
