    20lb in a month is 5lb/week, it's great that you've started your journey, and some of this may be water weight, but the previous posters are concerned for you

    it is recomended that for healthy and sustainable weighloss that doesn't cause muscle loss, bone density loss, hair loss, or a huge bounce back that people should target under 2lb/week weight loss
    for those in the normal/overweight bmi range this comes down to 1lb/week or less

    I just hope you don't put even more weight on in the near future! That's what has happened to me in the past when I have a quick loss.

    That's fantastic! Keep it up - I bet you're definitely noticing the difference, not just in appearance, but in daily life like walking up stairs!
