Hi, I'm new, and felt like introducing myself.

Hello, my name is Sheila. I'm 21 years old, 5'3, and before I started using this app I weighed 217lbs. I started almost two weeks ago, and using this app has been one of the best decisions in my life. I've already lost 7lbs, the most I've ever lost in all my attempts to lose weight.
My short term goal is just to be under 200lbs before going on a month long trip away from home, which I feel is very do-able seeing how much I've lost already. And when I come back home my end goal is to eventually to stay around the 120-130lbs range. Another end goal is to work and tone out my arms because its always been a problem where I have to pass on cute short-sleeved dresses and shirts because I'm so self-conscience of my arms.
At first I was just going to keep to myself on this website, but after exploring it a bit and seeing all the wonderful support I felt like it would be good to talk to people. I'd love to hear all stories, and hope you'd be willing to hear mine. :smile:

    hey welcome, well done for your loss so far

    7lbs in two weeks wonderful, well done, and it is common for folks to lose a lot to start with
    don't get disappointed if your loss rate slows, that would be entirely normal
    a healthy target is 1-2lb per week,
    the recomendation is that your target should reduce as you lose weight
    also that you should re-run your calorie goal/day calculations every 5lb or so lost

    I get a huge boost from having mfp friends and getting support and comments on my home pages - feel free to look around my profile and friend me if you like
