spironolactone - Side affects

Due to the Mirena my doc put me on spironolactone to help control the cystic acne caused by the hormal imbalance. I'm on 100mg 1x a day. I was curious as to what your experiences have been with this drug? I'm a little concerned about the side affects. TIA

    If you are concerned about the side effects, talk with your doctor. No one on these forums are capable of giving you adequate medical advice. All stories about other people experiencing side effects are anecdotal and do not represent the real frequency or infrequency of side effects in the general population. Your individual medical history may make you more or less likely to experience different side effects.

    I've been on it for over a year for acne and it's worked amazingly well. Only side effect for me is that it's a diuretic so I have to run to the bathroom more frequently. Even that side effect either wore off after a while or I got used to it... doesn't seem as bad anymore. Totally worth it to me to finally have clear skin. I get compliments from friends and family all the time. Good luck!
