Feeling Like A Foreigner!

Hello there! It's nice to find this community, and I look forward to chatting with you, and picking your brains, all of them!

I am a mid-to-late-20s female. I have two children, my youngest is just about 8 months old.

A little about me, and why I am here:

I have always been very petite. As a child and a teenager, I never had to "work" at being fit, I danced for fun, and was otherwise pretty active without having to "work out".

After two kids, I am still fairly petite, but completely out of shape.

I am trying to navigate through the waters of fitness, because I want to be "fit"... But I am feeling like a foreigner. How do I eat to maximize my exercise? Am I doing the correct type of exercise to see results? And how do I combine tweaking my intake with my exercising for my body type?

I don't really care if I end up lower than my current weight, or higher, as long as I feel better.

I am about 105-110 right now. I have been alternating with pilates and some ballet/barre work (I do miss dancing!). I am all soft and squishy, despite my weight. I am trying to find a regiment I can do at home. I would love to be hitting the gym, but with two kids that isn't always possible. And when the reaction to my wanting to be healthier and more fit is "psh, you don't weigh much, you don't end to exercise, you can just eat anything you want!" ....it gets discouraging.

So hello, community! How did you figure out the right regiment for you? Do you have any pointers for when you dive into this pool without knowing quite how to swim?
