What's the best calculator to calculate daiy calorie allowance?

Here are the Mifflin-St Jeor equations for BMR calculation:
MEN: BMR = [9.99 x weight (kg)] + [6.25 x height (cm)] - [4.92 x age (years)] + 5
WOMEN: BMR = [9.99 x weight (kg)] + [6.25 x height (cm)] - [4.92 x age (years)] -161
They'll give you an estimate of your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate). To find your TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure) you multiply your BMR by an activity factor based on your activity level and amount of exercise. Once you have your TDEE, you just subtract 10% - 20% from it for weight loss. Here's a list of the activity multipliers:
1.2 = Sedentary (Desk job & Little Formal Exercise)
1.3-1.4 = Lightly Active (Light daily activity & light exercise 1-3 days a week)
1.5-1.6 = Moderately Active (Moderately daily Activity & Moderate exercise 3-5 days a week)
1.7-1.8 = Very Active (Physically demanding lifestyle & Hard exercise 6-7 days a week)
1.9-2.2 = Extremely Active (Athlete in ENDURANCE training or VERY HARD physical job)0 -
If there was a "best" calculator then everyone would just use that and nothing else. Truth is they are all based on assumptions and population averages and just because one is "more accurate" for a given person doesn't mean its the "best" for everyone.
Just pick one, see what it tells you, try it out for a few months and adjust if you don't hit your targets.0 -
katch-mccardle if you have a decent idea of your bf%, mfp calculator is crap imo and gives out much lower maintenance estimations than what you really burn0

Just cause I was curious I did the above calculation
Put my BMR at 1409...my TDEE at 2114...using Moderate activity as I exercise 5-6x a week and it's actually pretty close to what I have calculated my TDEE at using (Total Calories consumed+(pounds lost x 3500)/#days...
but....
The descriptors say Moderate daily activity and moderate exercise...I have a desk job...so I don't have moderate daily...lightly active maybe...it's just confusing0 -
