I'm not really very creative in the gift-giving department. Can anyone suggest an idea for a Mother's Day gift for a mom that's fighting breast cancer at the moment? She had surgery in January, finished radiation recently, and is not out of the woods yet. I'm having her over to my house for brunch on Sunday and need help surprising her with something great!

Thanks for your help!

Do you have photos of happy memories?

Think of all the happy memories you can associate with her, the more the better. Seeing that you remember little things (even if its something like her shoo-ing away a spider for you), and if you can compile them all in a scrapbook or something, that could work.

I'm preparing something similar for my mom :)

Even if there's no photo for it, you can create the "best memories" book and use photos or drawings where you can. The best part is there is no end to the book, and it serves as a positive story database for any occasion :D

You can let her know how much she inspires you every day, because it takes a special person to be able to battle something so serious and keep going. Instead of looking for "the right words" to use to describe it, just use the words that come to mind. And if no words come to mind, or if your mind goes blank trying to explain it, a hug usually works to fill speech gaps.
    ...sorry for the long post
