Balancing Calories and Sodium

I have high blood pressure, so I have to limit my sodium intake to 1,500mg per day. I find that on most days my calories are too low, while my sodium intake is on target. To increase them would also increase the sodium. I know I could eat more fruit to get the calories up, but then I worry about sugar. Does anybody have this problem, and if so, what have you done to cope with it?

If you're not diabetic, don't worry about sugar. I don't even track sugar and I have absolutely no issue losing weight. I would definitely suggest eating more fruits, veggies, and lean meats.0

I agree - if you aren't diabetic don't worry about the sugar. I AM diabetic and I ALWAYS go over on sugar. And I very seldom eat anything processed or with sugar. I eat at least 3 fresh fruits a day and that puts me over. I shouldn't hurt your weight loss at all. I got rid of the sugar numbers on my food log - don't need to see them0
