Weight loss is just a simple calorie deficit. There is no special way to lose weight and being too restrictive can backfire on you.

I tried it for a while but I prefer maintaining a calorie deficit and being able to have my sweets every day. Oh, and I can't do without snacks. I'd be starving for supper if I didn't have a midday snack which would mean that first helping would be huge knowing that I'd told myself I couldn't have seconds.0

This is true ^. Eat what you eat but less of it than you burn off without starving yourself. Fad diets don't work.0

Sounds like no damn fun at all. I'll pass.0 -
I thought this was another kind of "No S". Well, it sounds a little out there. Read the links posted above and you won't have to keep grasping for the next fad diet to come down the pike.
Good luck.0 -

That sounds pretty dumb...0 -
That isn't what I thought the S meant.
And this sounds like a S diet to me.0 -

Never heard of it, but it sounds boring and probably counterproductive.0 -

If I were going to do a diet like this I would feel giving up those snacks and sweets was as a trade of for eating precisely what I would want daily. Assuming I were working and getting breakfast and lunch on the go these would be my choices:
BREAKFAST:
jack in the box croissant ..............................................................................................................................................448
jack in the box hash brown .........................................................................................................................................187
jack in the box coffee with 3 sugars and creams......................................................................................... 6+30+45=89
LUNCH:
chipotle steak burrito brown rice and black beans hot salsa .....................................................................................835
organic valley lowfat milk............................................................................................................................................. 110
DINNER:
Steamed Chicken Breast ................................................................................................................................................78
Steamed Broccoli 31
Whole Wheat Dinner Roll ..............................................................................................................................................150
Butter for roll one pat........................................................................................................................................ 36
TOTAL........................................................................................................................................1933 cals
Depending on your height, age, and activity level this COULD be a cal goal that could yield a weight loss. Since most people are taller and more active than me I'm going to assume most people could lose weight on a plan like this b/c my cal goal is not too far from this. For me the biggest challenge would be giving up snacks. If I have to separate my meals by too many hours that puts me in the precarious position of being right at the edge with time to eat and if any little thing got wonky I could be going too long without food and prone to headaches.0 -

If there is no special way to lose weight then I don't know why I can't do it! I actually thought the no s premise sounded reasonable, eat a normal one plate meal 3 times a day and cut out desserts and snacks during the week. On the weekend you can have them. I think I could do it but I really like a snack in the evening, that would be hard to cut out. Maybe I could keep a small snack in the evening...0 -
The S diet sounds... Stupid0
