Hi my name is Mel and I need to lose 60lbs. Id love to hear your stories!
How did I end up here?
I spent most of my adult life trim- at 140lbs, size 4-6 w lots of lean muscle w no extreme dieting. I do not drink alcohol and that always seemed to give me that extra edge keeping my weight down. I have a healthy relationship with food- 90% whole organic unprocessed food w room for a treat a day like a cookie.
But after starting birth control I managed to gain 60lbs in 3 years! My appetite was OUT OF CONTROL. Even though I ate healthy, I was clearly eating too many calories.
I have been off the pill for a month as of April 1. And my appetite is back to normal already! But the residual weight remains & I find myself needing to lose and not really knowing how to approach it,
I really need help!!!! and advice in all forms is welcome!!!!
Here are my rules:
1) I REFUSE to starve myself. No fasting, no shakes, no fake food.
2) I REFUSE to give up food groups. I am not interested in Paleo, Atkins, Vegan or any diet where cutting out a major food group is part of it.
3) I will not log my food bc its IMPOSSIBLE to know exact calorie count without either buying pre packaged foods which I dont eat, eating at chain restaurants with published info which I dont, OR estimating which is inaccurate.
4) I eat whole organic food & follow a mediterranean style diet :
fruits & veggies
whole grains
dairy
meat
olive oil
I do not eat processed food, everything is homemade and fresh. I eat a large breakfast, medium lunch, small dinner.
