whole grains

Hey... recently spiced up my diet by cooking with wholegrains and different grains to what I normally use...
last night for example, I made my normal sausage roll and instead of using bought pastry, i made my own and I used wholegrain spelt flour... found I filled up MUCH QUICKER!!! i'm not complaining, except it left my brain confused because the normal amount of food had not passed my lips but my stomach was telling me NO MORE... question is.. how long till my brain realises I do not need to eat as much on this new diet???
p.s I have taken this whole homemade cooking all the way... making my own nut butter, ice-cream (im not perfect) pastries, cakes (family treats) and have found using wholegrain flours and differing from wheat flour has changed how much I need to eat to feel satisfied
