There's no way to actively spot reduce fat in an individual area, it can only be done by reducing overall fat in the body. However, I'm going to contradict myself here by saying that by exercising muscles such as your lats and serratus you may find that this causes an increased bloodflow to the area which makes it easier for the transport to and from the area of micro-nutrients. This may actually make it slightly easier for the body to select those fat stores instead of others as the body always looks for what's easiest for it. This won't make a dramatic difference to the area but could help a bit.

You know it's May when there's a daily post about getting in shape for a wedding.

We can't choose where we lose, so focus on bodyfat reduction. The usual advice for that is: calorie control, regular cardio, and full-body strength training. The first 2 will make the biggest change in 1 month, so focus mostly on them. For strength, follow a normal, full-body program (NROL, Stronglifts, etc.).

Also make sure your bra fits you properly. More on that here:

As the others stated, you can't spot reduce so I would suggest to just keep focused on losing the extra pounds and being fit. And until the back fat goes away maybe they could be regarded as love handles. I was going to say good luck but luck has nothing to do with it. So, keep on going:)

to get rid of a lot of my "rolls" back and front I started with JM 30 Day shred...

In 33 days I lost 9 inches in total from chest down to hips

3.5 inches from my chest, 2 inches where my bra strap goes, 1 inch from natural waist, 1 inch from my belly button area, 1 inch from hips..

The next month I lost another 4 mostly from bra strap area and waist

So in 60 days I lost 13 inches and 8lbs...Love that the inches are higher.

Make sure you're wearing the right size bra, that has a lot to do with it. Go for a fitting at a department store like Nordstrom, not at Victoria's Secret.

This! Also make sure you're putting your bra on correctly--using the stoop & scoop method (bend at the waist and use your hand to coax all of your breast tissue, including that which may have migrated under your armpits, into the bra cup) will make for a fuller cup and a more smooth side/back underneath the band.

I've too have been thinking about this for myself. Thanks for all the helpful hints guys. As for the bra thing, I think you notice when your bra starts getting tighter from when it used to fit you fine, so bra thing has nothing to do with it. Just in the past year, I noticed my back fat around my bra and it had nothing to do with the wrong size. lol Hoping, I'll notice a difference in the next 3 weeks.

Since you can't spot reduce, this is a good answer for a quick fix.

For a longer term goal, eat at a healthy deficit and start a resistance/weight training program. This will help you lower your overall body fat percentage.

Thanks for all the hints and tips guys. I am currently increasing my cardio and have been controlling my calories for the last week. Feeling better already. Will see what the difference is when the wedding date comes in June for my brother in law. SUrely I will notice a difference in my outift then.

Also I have JM 30 day shred, havent done it for a while so will start doing it again. Enjoying running outside at the moment too so will try to fit in both and rotate it so i dont get bored.
