Restarting after falling off the wagon!

I started my weight loss back in 2008 (32 yrs old) when I hit 394 lbs. By August 2011 (on my wedding day) I was at my low of 220. However since then I have slowly started climbing back upwards.

I yo-yo'd for a while, hovering around 240s but I was working out and still feeling good and fitting into my clothes. However I completely fell off the wagon when my wife got pregnant.

Currently i'm 38, married, with a 5 month old baby and back into the 290s! I don't fit into my clothes and feel lousy with my poor food choices. Even worse, I'm affecting my wife's eating habits and she's at her heaviest that she's ever been.

I thought about restarting WW where I lost my weight initially, but I'm not a fan of the PointsPlus system and the 'free' fruits which always had me doubting my calorie intake. So instead I'm restarting MFP and REALLY need help staying on track. I know I should be able to motivate myself but for some reason it's just been so hard. There always seems to be a special dinner or bday party, etc that gets me off track and then it just steamrolls rather than me saying 'ok it was just one bad meal'. I can never 'right the ship'. then with the baby, getting back to the gym is much harder than I anticipated which frustrates me more.

So I guess that's it. My goal is to get back to my wedding weight and fit back into my clothes. I would love some ideas on a 'simple start' plan like WW has now to kind of kick start me as well. Thanks everyone!
