Ok I joined in February sometime, maybe late February after I quit smoking because I WAS NOT going to gain weight from quitting smoking(Smoking was not going to own me anymore). I didn't get serious with logging until late March. I was heistant to eat my exercise calories in fact I was extremely skeptical at first, but grudgingly did it. I joined this site to give me an idea of exactly what I was eating, when and so on. I really do not have a lot to lose. I work out hard, I eat good and I have really been trying to not focus on a number, but more of being fit and healthy. I also have not been weighing myself on a scale or with calipers, not even measuring myself really, just been judging by the way my clothes feel. I had noticed on Friday my shorts were a little baggy in the butt, no big, I'm pretty ok with the way I look, of course if I could have a body like Mariah Carey or that little dark headed dancer on Dancing w/the Stars I'd be thrilled.
So, to the point of this post... I went to my mother's today, she has a fancy new scale in her remodeled bathroom. Yes, I got on it, what do ya know I'm down some pounds. Normally, I wouldn't give it too much thought, however, eating all of your calories does work, allowing yourself to slip up and "cheat" does work, not stressing over a number does work. The number doesn't really mean much to me, it wouldn't have affected what I do one way or the other, just wanted to let you all know, this "eat all of your calories" isn't a bunch of B.S. I feel better than I have in years. This site is a great place to come to get me out of a funk and into a more positive attitude when I need it. Without sounding too much like a corney infomercial, Hang in there, it does work if you stick with it.:flowerforyou:

Thanks for sharing! I'm having a really unhealthy relationship with my scale lately... maybe you can inspire me to stop using it.

I haven't owned a scale since I left home almost 20 years ago. If I ever used one it was at my mom's or at the gy. It got so bad I was checking it before I worked out, after I worked out, after I sat in the sauna, after my shower. CRAZY!!!!! So I just decided to not do it, who needs the added depression?!?!?. Like i mentioned, I used it at my mom's b/c it was shiney and new, taunting me. Even now, I'm like why did I even do that? Who cares about a number? Get rid of it, put it up in an attic, or way back in the closet under a bunch of stuff.Out of sight out of mind!
