Hi, I started tracking everything I eat here about 5 days ago. It seems to be going pretty good. I am 6' tall and around 230. Would really like to get to 205 or 200.
I seem to stick with things longer when there seems to be a "gimick" or technology involved! So the phone app with the scanning ability has me hooked. I can't wait to eat something and scan it in! Sounds pretty lame, but whatever works I guess.
I have been having some trouble eating enough. Since I associate dieting with eating very little, I eat very little, then fail because I am so hungry! So I am making an attempt to eat the number of calories it tells me I should, and I am giving that a try.
Anyway, thought I would say Hi.
Steve

Welcome! I hear ya on the "dieting" thing. I've started keeping my goal higher than what I actually intend to consume. For some reason, if I let myself think that I can eat more, I'm more apt to stay inside of my goal--for whatever funny reason! Hope that helps. Good luck!

If you want to use up your calories, make sure to use them on fruits and veggies and such. I used to see "200 calories" left over so I'd head straight for a can of pop! Not really very helpful if it happens on an almost daily basis.

Its not a diet this time, its a lifestyle change. This really worked for me. I exercise more eat lots of good foods and dropped the bad foods and shed the belly fat. I never miss a meal and never starve. People say wow you lost weight, what did you do? Well, I just log everything including exercise. Eat at a slight deficit and the weight comes off. No cheating though.
