Hi all! I was curious, is there a difference between compulsive overeating and binge eating? I googled it but couldn't really find any difference, so I'd like to know your opinions on this. In my opinion, I think binging is a more out of control behavior and mindset, while compulsive overeating is just mindless munching. What do you think?

    Intriguing.

I think if I imagine a bulimic binge, I imagine someone going to the supermarket and buying a box of six cream buns, a block of icecream, two packets of cameo cremes, a loaf of bread and a jar of peanut butter. Coming home, squashing that in - and then barfing the lot back up. ie... huge amount of food consumed in 1 sitting.

Whereas compulsive overeating to me would involve just every night having a family size bag of chippies while watching tellly.
