Alternative Bagels

Hey everyone,

I've been looking at Alternative Bagels for a while, but I'm located in Canada and the only American areas I frequent are Ogdensburg and Syracuse, NY. There are no locations around there that carry these products. I'm looking at ordering online but I need a 20$ minimum.... at only 2.50/pack, that's A LOT of bread products!! So, before I take this plunge, has anyone tried these? I love bagels but honestly can't justify the calories or carbs (personally). Are Alternative Bagels good?? What are the various flavours like? Are they "regular bagel"-sized? Do they freeze well?

Thanks in advance for your input ;)

I'm not familiar with the product, but have you considered just eating half a bagel? Once you do that and add cream cheese, you're only looking at 200 calories or so.

Thomas's bagel thins. 110 calories and taste great! It's like a bagel w/ the fat center portion cut out

Not sure about Alternative Bagels, but I get whole wheat bagels from Trader Joe's and they're only 240 calories and 50 grams of carbs, which I consider a decent basis for a breakfast, but I'm also not low-carb.

I eat Dempsters bagels. Only about 190 calories. I buy them at Sobeys! Taste good too!

Thanks for the tip, I might look for the 190 cal Dempsters bagels! As for the thins - not a fan. They don't fill me and I end up feeling cheated, I like the fluffy part!! ;)
