I do a low carb diet. The problem I have is that with exercise the macro goals go up. I want to get the proper amount of protein. I can ignore what the goal are for carbs (lower than suggested) and fat (higher than suggested or lower if too few calories). I know the rule of thumb .8-1.2 grams of protein per pound of weight but what if I'm working out 3000 calories in a day? What do you recommend I set my macros to?

Working out 3000 calories a day ? You doing the Tour de France or something :-)
You can avoid this by logging exercise with 1 calorie. But my macro percentages go up pro rata with the few hundred extra calories (70/20/10 F/P/C)
If your base calorie level gives you enough protein then the extra should be ok, or am I misunderstanding ?
I recommend the lean body mass method described at http://lowcarbdiets.about.com/library/blproteincalculators.htm (scroll down) as people mix up lean and whole body mass and lbs and kg all over the net.0 -
3000 calorie workout lost. Your on a mission to get down in weight. I also used to do that in the past but I lost a lot of muscle which was no bueno.0
