Hello My Peeps! :drinker: :flowerforyou:

When I take a gander at other people's diaries, I'm amazed that so few have our "evil friend" SUGAR listed.

WHY??? Because it's just plain scary to see how much sugar is in most of our food & snacks? :noway:

I cleared out my diary to watch only what I consider most important for me: Calories, Fat, Protein & Sugar.

It's a tough juggle some days to make protein come out higher than fat & sugar!!!

I know what you mean! I just edited mine tonight to include sugars and sodium which are both very important to me as I go over every day. =/
  • I do not include sugar for one reason.. fruit. I have 3 portions of fruit a day sometimes more. I limit my refined sugars. I am nearly always over in protein and hardly ever over in fat.

That's exactly why I don't track sugar either. I would have to reduce my fruit intake way too much to hit the sugar goal. If it was tracking refined sugar only I would definitely track it, but as I am not diabetic I am not worried about having a smoothie made with fresh fruit in the morning that will almost always be over the sugar goal given to me.

I do show my sugar intake on my diary, but as the others have said - i eat baout 3 portions of fruit a day, so i will always go over.. plus i have natural honey on my porridge in the morning so it usually always goes over. if im over by about 20g i dont mind so much... but when you count into consideration sweet treats, its always a good thing to keep an eye on the amount of sugar you take in.

I don't track sugar for the same reasons as everyone else; fruit. That being said I do track carbohydrates which is what I actually have to keep a closer eye on for blood sugar levels anyway. I AM diabetic and generally pretty aware of the sugar that I eat, but not eating any fruit doesn't seem to be the answer.

I don't include it because I simply can't include everything. I track calcium and iron because those are very important while TTC. I also track protein and soduim because I want to make sure I keep those in a healthy range. And then there is fibre whom I have always had a problem with getting enough of.

Different people have different dietary concerns. Sugar really isn't one of mine. Sure, I consume it, but not usually to an excess. I'm more concerned with other things, that's all. :flowerforyou:

Ditto - I have fruit every day; it was so negative to see the sugar number go over every day. So I removed sugar from my chart. I make sure I get a good variety of foods each day, pay attention to fat and calories, and stay away from processed sugar. It's more fun to look at my chart and the end of the day and feel good about what I've done, rather than that awful red sugar number.

Yes I do Track it and I feel Sugar and Sodium are the most important elements to track. If you eat more Fruits just substract the Sugar from Fruits from the total Sugar.
