Hi ya'll! My roommate just told me about this site a couple days ago, and I thought it sounded like a great tool to utilize, so here I am. I've tried other sites in the past to help me keep track of calories, but usually lose motivation after only a few days because it made everything so difficult, and only had a small selection of foods in their data base. MFP makes it pretty easy to track.
So here's my story: I started with a personal trainer in May-ish. He is great and really kicked my butt for a few months. I started seeing changes in my body and could leg press 270lbs! Then my best friend moved to a different country and I got off track. I slumped into a depression for about a month, where I would only go work out very sporadically. When I finally decided that I needed to get my butt back in gear, I was there for a week with my trainer...then he went on vacation for the summer. Again with the slacking. I always feel that if I don't have someone there egging me on, I have a hard time motivating myself.
Right now, I'm in another rutt. I just got back from a business trip and am going to get back to it this week, planning for tomorrow! Let's see how this time around works out. I can already hear my traininer asking me where I've been for the past month...oh geez!
I'm starting out at the heaviest I've been. I've always been a bit of a jock, and had a pretty athletic build, but have never been "skinny" Since I've been out of college, and not riding and taking care of horses everyday, I've been packing it on. I hope to lose at least 20 lbs. Once that is gone, we'll see about maybe another 10

Welcome! I've been on MFP since June, and am trying to lose 25 pounds. This is a great tool and it works. I lose an average of a pound a week. Hope you stick with it. Good luck and get to the gym!0
