Hello all!

I have been a vegetarian for the past 8 months and, before that, off and on for a few years. I have been overweight for most of my life and struggling with my self-image and have not been able to balance a good diet with an adequate amount of exercise. I have used myfitnesspal in the past just as an application on my e-reader, but recently decided to check it out on my computer. I have lost about 5lbs. in two weeks watching what I eat and exercising for 30 min 5 times per week (that only started this week, though). This is in contrast to almost a year ago when I was running upwards of 3 miles 6 times a week and "trying" to eat reasonably and making essentially no progress on the scale. I'm certainly not saying that my rigorous running schedule was in vain, but I definitely was focused too much on exercise and not enough on watching what I ate.
Anyway, I feel like I'm off to a great start and happy with what I'm doing! To be honest, I'm hungry a lot lately, but I'm managing and getting used to the cravings. I eat as organically as possible and seldom do I have dairy products. I blend a lot of smoothies so I get lots of fruits and veggies. I do indulge in some chocolates and potato chips occasionally, but this site keeps me in check which is more than I could hope for!
Best of luck to everyone with their healthful endeavors!
