Did I mess up my diet and overeat?

Okay so after having eaten really badly from Tuesday to Friday I said to myself I want to eat clean.
Saturday I had just cabbage soup at work and I was perfecctly full.
Then Sunday on my day off I sort of feel like I fell off the wagon this is what I had. Everything homemade by the way.
Breakfast:
2 homemade chapati with tuna chunks in brine (drained) with black olives, salad, abit of salad cream and a boiled egg. Had half a cup of tea, and a cup of water
Lunch:
Oatmeal. Had a cup of dark hot chocolate and a cup of water
Dinner:
A cup of rice, grilled chicken, grilled lamb chop and mixed vegetables. Had a cup of water
Snack: 2 dark chocolate digestive biscuits and a cup of tea
In all that is 1,130 calories by estimate of using the calorie counter. Considering that I am on a diet is this bad just for today? Is this a cheat day? I feel terrible for having eaten this much

unless you are like 5 ft 1100 calories is very little0

Do you use MFP to keep track of your calories at all? Considering that 1200 is the absolute bare minimum that you should be consuming in a day 1,130 calories is most definitely NOT a cheat day, in fact, it's not enough enough to sustain you if you did nothing but lay on the couch all day long.
Eat some food.0 -
If you feel terrible for eating 1130 calories (fewer than most adults need to lose weight) I suggest you seek help from a therapist. You should be eating much more and you will still lose weight. Eating is not bad0

I'm 5'1 and 1100 is still very little. I eat almost 1700 calories a day and still lose weight0 -
Sounds like you're getting an eating disorder if you haven't got one already. See your GP for help.0

Look up the success stories. They look great and do not starve themselves. Look up the "recomp" threads and see how great they look while being over the BMI! Starvation is not good!!0

Yeah. even for someone 4'8 it's bare minimum (and that's assuming they are completely sedentary and maintaining)0 -
No that is not a cheat day its actually under what you should eat. MFP sets your goal to no lower than 1200 because you shouldn't eat below that for your body to function properly and get proper nutrients.0

OP, it's a lot of reading but I highly suggest you take a look at the links below.
And if your eyes cross at that much reading, at least just look at the first two and save the other links for down the road.

Just a suggestion - since you're now on here, stop looking at the process as "dieting". That makes us feel like we are depriving ourselves or that we're not allowed to have certain things to eat. I don't know about you, but it's been my experience (& the experience of many other people that I've spoken to) that the "dieting" mentality sets me up to fail - all I want to eat are the things I'm telling myself I can't have. There's only so long you can hold out against those thoughts. Instead, take advantage of the tools & information here. Utilize the food diary & exercise logs, you'll learn very quickly what things you should eat less often & smaller portions of & what things you should have more of. I've had some big surprises - some things that I thought were very healthy wound up being not what I expected, for example they may be low in calories but they are extremely high in sodium. Other things that I thought should be absolute no-no's turned out to be things I could enjoy, albeit in moderation. Personally, I have made many good changes to my diet & have found it much easier to find things I enjoy that are better for me than junk food & I have most definitely gotten better at portion control. These are lifestyle changes that I'm fairly sure I can maintain even after I get to where I want to be. My mentality is much different since I started on MFP & I have had way more success that I ever had before....
Good luck to you, you can do this. Make some friends here, lean on them for support & support them in return......0 -
if you overeat calorie one day then under eat another day to counter that so they balance.0

While this is ok advice for many members, I wouldn't suggest it to the OP. She had only 1130 calories, barely BMR for most people and that was following a day that she ate only cabbage soup. This was not "overeating" it's an eating disorder.0 -

^Agreed...or at least disordered eating habits. if this is her overeating, then I am really scared what her actual calorie goal is.0 -
I think you haven't eaten enough. I eat more then that for breakfast sometimes. If you seriously think that is overeating, then please contact a doctor about the possibility of having an eating disorder.
And just curious, aren't digestive biscuits laxatives??? And why is that considered a snack????? Personally, I only use a, laxative product if I'm having constipation issues, so I don't consider it a snack. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Definitely do some reading and learn about how many calories your body needs.0 -

Digestive cookies are most definitely not laxatives.
And yes, the OP should eat more.

Definitely need to eat more. 1130 calories is not overeating by any means. Also being too strict on yourself the more likely you are going to binge eat. I feel that you should contact your doctor, get hooked up with a nutritionist and maybe even a mental health specialist to help you.0
