I've been using the noodles in various foms -an Asian Grocery has them in all different types. They also have Konnyaku (the blocks). Lately I've been into frying them up (to get all the moisture out) and making into cookies. This time I was able to use two types, one egg noodle style with tofu, and one thin spaghetti style without. I used agar-agar powder (that I didn't realize was sweetened) to make them have more body (as my original chocolate ones fell flat)along with egg whites. I tried two versions; chocolate (unsweetened cocoa) w/ dried apples, orange, cranberries and cinnamon / nutmeg and a vanilla green tea (using Matcha powder). I expected more than 12 cookies but lot a bit of "batter" due to possibly overcooking noodles and / or my blender (didn't have a food processor that works). They needed about 15 minutes at 350 degrees. The Matcha ones were a bit flat, but not as bad as the original chocolate. They also had a strange texture and weren't sweet enough. I didn't really like them. These were 22kcal each. The chocolate / fruit ones were great! I really liked the sweet and bitter blend of the cocoa and fruit bits! These had about 30kcals and worth each bit!!

The original 10kcal ones plus some variation can be found on this pinerest board... I want to try the orange-sicle ones! http://www.pinterest.com/search/pins/?q=shirataki cookies
