Forced break from exercise - dealing with the consequences?

Going through the frustration of having to lose weight again that had already been lost, I thought there are probably others who grind their teeth for the same reason. So if you had to take a break and are now back on track, feel free to rant, whine, or just say how happy you are
In my case, I had to stop exercising for a couple of months due to (relatively minor) health issues. Also, because my Doc likes to drive me crazy. It bugged me but it wasn't too bad. I managed to stay around 1200-1400kcal most days after I stopped taking medication, and also didn't expect to stay the same weight. Fast forward to two weeks ago, I had put on almost 9kg and a whole clothing size (at 5'2" height). I knew that almost complete inactivity would make me gain weight. And I am very happy that managed to complete all my uni courses despite that annoying little obstacle.
But when I first looked at my "new" weight and measurements I was still like:
I was soooo close to a healthy BMI before and that doesn't help either. I mean, I know that the weight will come off again and I build muscle relatively fast, but its is just frustrating. On the bright side, it gave me some time to figure out a couple of things and am now much more relaxed when I think about my options for my future. Nothing I would not have figured out anyway at one point but I feel more at ease now, which is great

I gain fast as anything when I stop exercising (as I had to for three months a couple of years ago after surgery). it'll come off and it'll work out and you'll be healthier than ever!
Best of luck!0
