Hi All, I'm wondering if there are certain foods anyone eats to have clearer skin? My skin has recently had a breakout and with my wedding only 5 weeks away, I really want to eat foods that clear-up my skin. Any ideas?? Thanks!

First of all congrats! load up with veggies and fruits, and drink lots of water! it will help your body flush out the toxins! Do not prick and avoid touching your face to avoid germs and bacteria0

Ditto what alechua said. Sugar and saturated fat can also increase breakouts as well as stress. With 5 weeks left I am sure stress is building, make sure to do things to destress. Congratulations and good luck. I also use black soap (made from plantains) and have notice improvement in my skin due to antibacterial properties of the soap.0

My skin hasn't looked or felt so good in ages, I've put it down to eating plenty of fruit and salad and drinking lots of water and herbal teas.
I've also cut right back on the sweets, crisps, chocolate, chips and take away foods.
I do cleanse, tone and moisturise my skin at least once a day.
Good luck and I hope you have a fantastic wedding.0 -
Lots of water, fruit, veggies.
I have very clear skin. I use a tea tree oil cleanser at night. My nightime routine goes clean/exfoliate, toner, vitamin C serum, moroccan oil, lotion. The cleaning gets the crap out of my skin, exfoliating gets off the dead skin cells, toner closes up my pores and has tea tree oil for added antibacterial, Vitamin C helps brighten my skin, moroccan oil deep moisturizes so my skin doesn't produce excess oil as I sleep and is smoother, and the lotion locks it in and adds more moisture (also has tea tree oil in it so that it has more anti-acne protection).
Morning routine goes anti-bacterial white tea cleanser, toner, lotion. The morning cleanser is a lot gentler than the nighttime one but gets any ick off my skin and has anti-inflammatory properties, toner is the same as at night so more tea tree oil, and the daytime lotion has salicylic acid and an SPF 30 in it- fights acne and sun damage at once!
This is what works for me. But for a short term, just remember to use toner (basic astringent works), wash morning and night, moisturize, and wear sunscreen. Drink LOTS of water, eat fruits and veggies, and cut down on processed food, esp. fried or sugary.0 -
Congrats on the upcoming wedding!
I've been drinking a herbal tea that contains nettle, fennel and dandelion (Pukka [Cleanse]) and it seems to be making a huge difference to my skin. I was getting these horrid spots around my nose and this stuff really keeps it under control. I have one cup full in the morning. It tastes quite nice as well which is always a bonus. I get it from the supermarket, but a quick google seems to indicate you can get it in the US as well. If you can't find that brand, maybe another herbal tea with similar herbs would help.0 -
Peppermint tea (loose leaf - not bagged) always works for me. When I stress, I breakout like crazy. Drinking a tea in the morning and then with dinner usually clears my skin up in 4-7 days!0
