So I go to the gym after work to blow off steam and I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions for workouts for your stomach and hips, like where the love handles are. I usually go on the elliptical but I'd like to try some other things. Can't afford a fitness trainer at this time.

1.) you cannot spot reduce
2.) you cannot work a bone
3.) table push aways and fork put downs will get you the result you want.
4.) cardio is good- but you should include strength training
5.) i would caution against using the gym as only an outlet for stress release- it's nice and all- but you need to go because you're dedicated to going not because it's an emotionally driven behavior.

As has been said, you can't spot reduce. If you're like me, that's the first place I put it on,and the last place I get it gone! Before I deleted my previous account, I had lost 2 pants sizes. I've been focusing on cardio and lifting. I tried "whittle your waist" magazine workouts and things like that, but was disappointed. So, cardio...and lifting.
It will go away as long as you're not eating in a counter productive manner!
