Burning Extra Calories

Just thought it would be nice if everyone shared their ways of burning extra calories everyday with eachother.....

Heres some of my ways

1.Stand instead of sitting (great if you have an office job)
2.Get up on commercials and do little household chores
3.On breaks walk around instead of sitting for coffee
4.When going to a store park further away from the door

    I got a great tip from jbaranello, every time you go upstairs do push ups when you reach the top...it's great!! :bigsmile:

    Do lunges periodically when you're walking room to room.

    Leg lifts if your talking on the phone or standing at a copy machine/fax

    Keep small 3-5 lb weights on the coffee table - when your watching TV play around with them.

    1. when on my break at work, I take a walk
    2. where a light jacket or sweatshirt while working out
    3. on commercial breaks I do sit ups, pushups, leg lifts
    4. While my daughter has soccer or swim lessons I take a walk
    5. When I take my daughter to the park, instead of sitting on the bench, I play with her.
    5. Walk the mall

    Parking in the farthest spot at the grocery store, playing outside with kids, mopping the floor by hand and really scrubbing!!:happy:
  • :flowerforyou: walk your kids to school. Walk a dog.(borrow a neighbours if you haven't one.)
    do some those jobs you keep on putting off till later,(mowing the garden, planting and weeding etc).
    one extra job done each week and you will be both getting stuff done and burning the extra calories.
    Thats what I am doing.

    use a push mower (powered but not articulated) to cut the grass -- I have six acres and do that once a month now. It takes two half days on the weekend and it sure is more relaxing seeing something get accomplished instead of wokring out on a machine that's stationary in the house.

    I do lunges and squats when I vacuum and I scrub my kitchen floors once a week in basic plank position, calf raises when I dust or do windows, along with parking as far out as possible.
