Cant see why not - if my maths is correct, there's roughly 33 weeks til Christmas, 30lbs to lose = 1lb a week - you can do this if you ignore those blips (yes I know its hard) but if you put you're mind to it - then its possible :)

    Yes possible.

Find out how many calories you need daily, and then do about 15% - 20% less than that number.

Well it's 30 weeks...and at 1lb a week it is doable but you will find that at first the weight will come off quicker and as you hit goal it slows down...

If you aren't at goal by Christmas you will be really close...

But you don't have to go "low calorie" you just need a 500 calorie a day deficit and since you are a young man you could probably eat quite a bit and still lose 1lb a week.

Min for you should be 1800 but I suspect you could go a lot higher than that. My son is a bit younger than you and when he is workig he can eat almost 3000 calories a day and still lose...(he is a welder so on the go a lot). That is without exericse, add in exercise and he can eat 3500-4000 calories a day and still lose.

The key is to enter your data into MFP correctly...1lb a week weight loss goal, your activity level before exercise and it will give you the calories you need to lose your weight before exercise, then when you exercise you log that and eat back 50-75% of them and still lose 1lb a week.

The loss is quite feasible, but a low-calorie diet increases your chances of failure or illness--aim for a deficit of only 500 calories/day. If you tell MyFitnessPal your goals and log your exercise, it will help you. :)
