Breastfeeding moms losing successfully

What's your calorie goal? And how old is your baby?

Mine is 1625 currently. I started roughly 4 months ago eating around 2100. As I lost, I changed my goals. After losing 30lbs, it has slowed considerably now. It's around .5 lb/week. I weigh 161 so I still have a lot to lose. I don't want to decrease more calories as I'm afraid it will lower my supply but I don't know what to do to pick up my loss. Share with me please what's working for you.

Goal is 1650 plus exercise calories. Kiddo is 2 and we nurse 1-2 times per day, although it seems to be moving to once a day. I do not add in calories for breastfeeding because of how little we nurse, her age, and the type of milk I'm producing. Still maintaining a supply, but it's basically supplementation since the bulk of her nourishment comes from table food.

ETA: I'm less than 20 lbs to goal and my weekly loss has slowed down as well. I seem to fluctuate between two numbers for a bit, then I'll see a loss. Damn whooshes.

I am 160lbs, 5'3" with a goal of 140. My son is 1.5 and nurses 2x a day. My calories were 1320 until I hit 160 for a 1.5lb loss per week. Now it is 1540 for 1lb loss per week.

See my goal is 1625 with breastfeeding 8-10 times in 24 hrs with my 8 month old, so I SHOULD'nt have slowed down no? ????

It is hard when nursing, our bodies are tricky. I never lost a single pound with either of my kids and I breastfed on demand and was exclusively nursing my oldest for 5 months and my youngest for 6 before they started solids. Your body will do what it needs to provide for your baby and put you 2nd. Even if your loss slowed, it is better than none!

Thanks. Yes, I guess something is better than nothing. It IS quite tricky while nursing.

Has the amount of milk or duration of nursing sessions changed? You may not be burning as many calories nursing as you were before. Our bodies are good at adapting to activity. And have you introduced solids yet? That would account for lowered intake.
