Keeping motivated

I am a rugby player in season right now but my season is about over. Does anyone have any ways to burn lots of calories besides running (bad joints)? I don't have much room in my apartment and can't do much outside in winter because I live in Minnesota.. so any ideas would be great!

    the eliptical (i think thats what it is called) burns calories faster than walking on a tredmill but i'd say best thing is running eventho im not a runner... can you fit a tredmill in your house somewhere? if you hold dumbells in your hands while walking/running it burns calories a lot faster...

    Yay rugby player! I play for my college team :] burn lots of calories but season is coming to an end as well....
    I would say elliptical is the best bet, or join a gym like the ymca. Lots of cardio choices to do there and a few fun classes!
    I think i might try kick boxing at a local gym here while im not in rugby
