Hello,

I found this site while looking for an easy way to track the nutritional value of the foods I eat. I was recently diagnosed with type II diabetes. I have been overweight for about 14 years and have tried to get healthy many times. I find it hard to stick to a healthy lifestyle. In the past, it has been about looking good, even though I wanted to believe it was about being healthy. Now, with my recent diagnosis, it really is about being healthy. Fortunately, I do not have to take diabetes medicine or use insulin--yet. But I fear if I can't control this with lifestyle changes, I will eventually be on insulin, and I just can't go there.

So, I am tracking the food I eat and planning ways to get more physical. Thanks for listening.

    its my 3rd day on the site and it looks like its going to help me keep track of what I eat and do and hopefully it will help us keep motivated. good luck! :)

    Great wisdom & incite. LEARN as much as you can about diabetes, food,exercise, effects of food,[whats good for ya]

    It was the best thing to ever happen to me,even though I hate it! Made me choose a healthy lifestyle change... If you think about it,we should all be eating like were diabetic....

    Ever need support,questions,low blood sugar,effects of exercise on your body or any thing else relating to it, look me up! Plus my wife is a pharmasist.[was lucky in that area]...Take care!:wink:

    As you'll see reading through the posts, this is a great place to be! It's motivating and supporting but it still leaves you in charge to decide how much to participate.     Hi, I'm new to this site also but not new to dieting. I have type 2 diabetis and I'm on meds. I have had it for about 14 yrs. My goal is to loose the weight and hopefully get off the medication. I'm hoping this site plus the workouts at work with friends will help me stay on track. I have a bit to loose (60 lbs) so I mentally know this will take a while but like everyone want to see results. LOL. Good luck and would love to have some new friends to be able to talk to about dieting. Nothing better then being able to vent with others that understand or just give high fives when you do good.
