Water and Weight Loss Science?

Has anyone had personal experience with the relationship between drinking water and losing weight?

Like, do you lose more weight if you restrict your calories to, say 1500 AND you drink 8 glasses of water than if you have 1500 calories and 3 glasses of water? How does that work?

I know that you're supposed to drink water to make sure you dont eat when you're actually just thirsty, but I was wondering if there was more to it than that.

honestly I don't know the answer to this question. Every site I found claims that water does boost metabolism. Yes the body cannot differentiate between being hungry and thirsty. It all feels the same so usually people eat instead of drinking a glass of water.

I don't know. I drink a lot of water everyday but I am not losing weight as my friends who barely drink 2 glasses a day.

However, I have read every where that in order to help with bloating, you need to drink water to let the water out...I am not quoting them exactly so please don't bash me...

Water helps move things along in the body. Sodium holds water and in turn holds onto weight. Drinking water flushes out the sodium and the water is eventually released. At least this is the way it works for me.
