Had no idea that my canned tuna was so high in sodium!

Grabbed a can of chunk light tuna (in water) on my way out the door this morning since I didn't have time to pack a lunch for today. I was planning on eating the entire can as I normally would. But, after checking the sodium content, I only ate 1/2 the can! 250mg per serving! That would have been 750mg for the whole can! I'm going to have to stop buying my tuna at Costco and get the reduced sodium stuff! Geez, for that much salt, I'd rather have some french fries or something! =)~

if you rinse it, some of the sodium will be washed away. I don't know how much, but the sodium wont be quite so high.

Oh, good tip! I'll do that for the rest of the cans I have in stock!
  • I quit buying it and now only buy the tuna steaks...they are amazing grilled...it's like, "Oh, that's what tuna is suppose to taste like!!!" ;0)
